How to choose my first car?
After receiving the provisional license, or sometimes eailer, many students are thinking about getting their first car. This is as exciting as opening that biggest gift box under the Christmas tree on the Christmas day! However there are a couple of things to consider, besides the look of a car:
Q. How many lessons will I need to get through the Log Book?
A. To attain your license through the Log Book System, a minimum of 6 lessons is required. In our experience it usually takes students on the average 9 to 12 lessons to complete all 22 competencies in the Log Book.
Q. What can I do to reduce the number of lessons?
A. We highly recommend students to practice as much they can between lessons. The key for fewer lessons and getting your P's quicker is to practice, Practice, PRACTICE!
Q. How long does a standard lesson go for?
A. A standard lesson is for one hour, but we can tailor the length of your lessons upon request.
Q. How do I pay?
A. Cash payment is to be paid directly to your instructor at the beginning of each lesson. We keep it simple to keep our running costs down, as well as keep fees low for you.
Q. Do you have package deals like other schools?
A. No. We do not believe in making students feel obligated to stay with Jus Driving School. However we do have great specials from time to time, which beat package deals offered by many other schools.
Q. Can I have my lessons in Tuggeranong?
A. Unfortunately we are only operating on the central and north side of Canberra. If you are not sure about your location, please call us on 049 003 1569.
Q. What if I need to cancel or change my booked lesson?
A. Please call us on 049 003 1569 to cancel/change your booking ASAP. If the cancellation occurs within 24 hours before your lesson starts, a once off fee of $5 may apply to your next lesson.
Q. I would like to learn to drive an automatic car. Can I still book a lesson?
A. Jus Driving School Canberra currently supply a manual instructing vehicle. However our instructor is happy to teach you, if you supply a road-worthy and fully insured automatic car. Unfortunately you will be liable for any related costs if an incident was to occur.
Q. Will I be liable if I am involved in a car accident during my lesson?
A. Our car is fully insured and your instructor will make sure you are in safe hands. However you will be liable for any insurance access fee if the accident happens during a lesson or government test.
